New Category Product MXA-5000 : AIS receiver for Collision-at-Sea Avoidance.

MXA-5000

Icom proudly announces the debut of a new category product, the dual channel AIS (Automatic Identification System) receiver, MXA-5000. The AIS is used by ships and Vessel Traffic Services, and provides a vessel’s navigation information such as identification, position, course, speed etc. The MXA-5000 takes this information in real-time and displays it on a computer, radar or a chart plotter for easy navigation and collision avoidance at a glance*.

*The MXA-5000 is developed as one component of a new networked marine navigation system which will be released later. But if you connect the MXA-5000 to the third party navigation equipment or a PC, you can see the AIS data on the external display.
